To Buy, One Must First Find: How to Maximize SEO to Attract Customers

Sales has undergone many changes over the decades, and it’s important to continuously incorporate new trends in order to maximize your success. In the past twenty years, your business’s online presence has become more important than ever. But even so, many small businesses don’t know how best to attract their customers. We spoke with John Vuong about how you can master SEO to reach your audience and increase your sales.

Discover how, done properly, SEO can attract new customers. Watch our podcast with John Vuong below:

John Vuong is a seasoned sales professional and internet marketer with an exceptional track record helping companies grow their clientele and profits. Through 15 years of experience working with CEOs, business owners, and marketing leaders at some of Canada’s most successful corporations, John developed a deep understanding of local marketing dynamics and consumer behavior. John’s entrepreneurial spirit and experience working with more than 5,000 local business owners inspired him to start his own company, Local SEO Search, in 2013. As a full-service digital agency, and one of the top SEO agencies in Canada, Local SEO Search is a one-stop shop for small and medium-sized businesses. They provide analytics, design, regular audits, keyword research, and social media marketing. Local SEO Search also provides free education to small business owners through live events and their podcast, Local SEO Today.

Kicking off our discussion, John divulges more about his career journey; he went from being a newspaper boy to becoming a top sales representative to starting his own business. He describes the kinds of roles he took on, what he learned, and what ultimately made him tick. Eventually, he launched Local SEO Search with the intention of helping small businesses reach their ideal customers and clients.

So why is SEO so important for businesses making sales? As its own name states, search engine optimization is how you make your website — and your products and services — more findable. You want your business to appear on the first page of Google when someone searches for your company, or for something related to what you provide. How do you achieve these metrics? Some of the most fundamental elements include a good page title, the right keywords and tags, and a proper slug (the part of the URL that comes after your website’s main name). But of course, there’s a lot more to good SEO than that!

There are some quality tools out there to help small and medium companies maximize their SEO. John goes into a few, mentioning what their pros and cons are. One of the most popular ones is Yoast SEO, and with good reason. However, as John explains, most of the plugins and tools available can only do so much. They’re great to get started. But as your business grows, you’ll want to invest in something — or someone — more robust. Hiring an employee or service provider that specializes in SEO would be a good move in the long run.

John reveals some of the biggest mistakes he has seen businesses make when it comes to SEO. What are so many small businesses doing wrong or forgetting to do altogether? John shares his insights here, so be sure to listen for all you need to know.

By the end of our podcast, John explains how his company, Local SEO Search, helps businesses correct their mistakes and make their websites (and products!) more findable. They provide a wide array of specialized services that are attainable for small and medium businesses.
