First and foremost, language is most powerful and clear when it’s strong, active, and confident. Though many people struggle with this, women have been socialized to be particularly soft-spoken – especially in professional settings. Offset that by watching out for qualifiers and filler words. You should also pay attention to how often you apologize and how you say “no.”
