Have you ever wondered what it would be like to start and run your own travel company? Matilde Melendez did just that, founding Conquer Peru and arranging trips to her home country, Peru. We spoke to Matilde about her experiences and advice for others who want to follow in her footsteps.
In our new interview, Matilde first describes how she first found the inspiration to start Conquer Peru. She describes how being a Peruvian woman based in the United States has impacted her perspective, and how being an immigrant entrepreneur posed its own unique set of challenges.
Due to the nature of running a travel company, Matilde spends a lot of time both in the US and in Peru. This duality in location has both its difficulties and its glorious perks! In the end, though, Matilde has found running Conquer Peru to be an immensely rewarding career for her. She loves the opportunity to promote a niche country – her native Peru – and give tourists a memorable vacation to its best spots.
Can you see yourself starting your own travel company? Do you wonder how you would go about setting it up? Then you’ve come to the right place!
