We all have a comfort zone, a set of habits and places where we feel most at ease. But as great as comfort zones are, it’s necessary to step out of them sometimes. How else will you grow as a person? Treading into the unknown can lead you to learn new skills, meet new people, and discover new interests. It leads to self-improvement and memorable experiences.
Even so, for many people, stepping outside your comfort zone can be scary. Rosemary Anthony of Brazen Living knows this all too well. She was content in her life, but allowed fear to keep her from achieving certain goals. Years ago, she decided to do something about it.
We spoke to Rosemary about how she overcame her fears and decided to share her ideas and experiences with others. She explained the positive side effects of pushing your own boundaries – self-improvement and personal growth! – but also acknowledge how fear can get in the way. Luckily, you can push past that, just like she did. Because of her new lifestyle, Rosemary feels her life has changed for the better – and yours can too.
It’s never too late to experience new things or learn something new. Rosemary’s site, Brazen Living, has plenty of articles and lists to help you get started. Check out “60 Creative Tasks to Challenge Yourself to Step Out of Your Comfort Zone” or “13 Crazy Things I did This Year to Challenge My Comfort Zone (and a bit of advice),” as well as her many other posts.
Rosemary also offers courses on developing social skills and being more likable. Learn more about those here.
