It’s a scary world out there, and the many threats we could potentially face can leave you feeling fearful and insecure. Olivia Round knows exactly how that feels, because that’s how she felt growing up. But at one point, she decided that she needed to overcome her fears. So how did she do it? Olivia chose an unexpected journey to self-empowerment: a cross-country bike adventure! She rode her bicycle – alone – across the continental United States from Oregon to Florida. It was such an impactful and empowering experience that she wrote a book about it.
Olivia’s journey landed her in some uncomfortable situations, but by and large, the experience showed her how good people can be – and how strong she is.
In our new podcast interview, Olivia reveals how working on organic farms in Chile prepared her for her bike adventure. She describes the insecurities she overcame, talks about a particularly meaningful moment near the end of her journey, and gives women advice on how they, too, can face their fears.
Before you listen to the interview, be sure to check out Olivia’s official website. You can follow her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. If you’re in the Seattle area, you can also meet her in person! She’ll be at the REI store at Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood on Tuesday, April 2nd at 6pm. Find out more here!
Olivia is currently working on a memoir, too, so stay tuned for more information on that. It’s a read you won’t want to miss!
